Upper Canada Region Map CoverThe Upper Canada Region Adventure Map has received national recognition from the Economic Developers Association of Canada at their national marketing awards ceremony held in Fredericton, New Brunswick on September 11th. It was one of 147 award submissions from municipalities and economic development organizations across the country.

A partnership project between the Municipality of South Dundas and Township of South Stormont, the Upper Canada Region Adventure Map was launched in mid-May. It was designed by Annie Dalton Design Network and printed by Motion Creative Printing.

“The Municipality of South Dundas and the Township of South Stormont are excited to receive such a highly competitive award that validates the superior level of tourism products offered in our region,” says South Dundas Mayor Evonne Delegarde.

The Upper Canada Region Adventure Map was honoured with a special award for Sustainability, which acknowledges an outstanding submission that goes above the requirement for marketing standards. In the interest of sustainability and the environment, the Upper Canada Region Adventure Map was printed using recycled paper and vegetable-based ink to mitigate the environmental impacts of large quantity printed material. This is the first time either the Municipality of South Dundas or the Township of South Stormont have received such an award.

“The Sustainability Award truly demonstrate our commitment to being environmentally conscious, while at the same time producing quality tourism marketing pieces that attract visitors to our region,” adds South Stormont Mayor Jim Bancroft.
