Equipment Operator / Truck Driver / Labourer

The Township of South Stormont is seeking an interested and qualified individual to fill an Equipment Operator / Truck Driver / Labourer temporary full-time (40 hours per week) unionized position. Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor, the position’s focus is a waste/recycling truck driver. Applicants must possess a valid Class DZ driver’s licence; experience in operating graders, combination sanding units and snow plow will be an asset. A job description is available.

Election Officials

The Township of South Stormont is recruiting Election Officials to assist with the Municipal Elections on October 22, 2018. 

Who Can Apply?

  • Must be 18 years of age or older;
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • Ability to work well both independently and as a team;
  • Excellent customer service;
  • Election experience preferred;
  • Proficiency with computer software; 
  • Available to work on October 22, 2018 from 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM; and
  • Available to attend a required training session in the weeks prior to Voting Day.
    Note: Applicants cannot be a candidate or the spouse, sibling, parent, child, grandparent or grandchild of a candidate running in the October 22, 2018 Municipal Elections.

Assistant Facilities Attendant

Wage Rate: Minimum Wage
Hours per week: 15 hours +/-
Start Date: September 10, 2018
 

The Assistant Facilities Attendant(s) will provide support in relation to events and rentals at the Long Sault Arena. The individual(s) will be expected to assist in ice making, facility maintenace, and cleaning duties assigned by the Facilities Operator(s) or Director of Parks and Recreation. The position provides individuals enhanced skills and valuable work experience through daily contact with colleagues and the public. Good communication and organizational skills are a must.

The Director of Parks and Recreation, responsible for the Township's Health and Safety Program, will provide the neccessary training.
