Newington Drinking Water System - Water Meter Installation

Council hosted a public information session concerning the installation of water meters in Newington on January 17, 2018. 

Items discussed included:

  • Water conservation initiatives;
  • How the installation would be arranged;
  • Why meter installation now?; 
  • 75% provincial funding; 
  • Water quality; and 
  • Cost of installation and future water rates.

Splash Pad Grant Opportunity- Report to Council

Splash Pad Design Approved for Ingleside Community Park

Council has approved the design and installation of the new Splash Pad that will be constructed at the new Ingleside Community Park on Farran Drive by ABC Recreation Ltd (Vortex equipment).  This portion of the project is valued at approximately $158,000.00 with funds coming from a number of sources including a $70,000.00 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, a commitment of nearly $30,000.00 in local fundraising from a combination of corporate sponsors, and in-kind excavation and site preparation from David Brown Construction.  The Township and the Ingleside Splash Pad Committee are excited to announce that this new splash pad is scheduled to be completed and operational by August 15, 2018.

Friendly Circle Seniors' Club Donate $500 Toward Ingleside Splash Pad

Special thanks to the Friendly Circle Seniors’ Club who donated $500.00 towards the construction of a Splash Pad at the Ingleside Community Park. Pictured above, Carson Elliott, current president of the club, presents Kevin Amelotte, Director of Parks and Recreation, with the $500 cheque.

Ingleside Community Park Play Structure - October 2017

The play structure and swing set at the Ingleside Community Park is now ready for use. This swing set features an accessible swing, a Generation Swing that allows adults to swing with children, a baby seat and two belt seats. This play structure is surfaced with accessible cedar mulch and features three separate slides, multiple climbers, a rock wall, musical instruments, playhouse panels and much more.The final excavating and landscaping of this project will take place next Spring.

Ingleside Community Park Multi-Sport Court - September 2017

 

The multi-sport court project at the Ingleside Community Park is nearing completion for this season, temporary white tennis court lines will be added before the end of October.  The final flexi-pave coloured court surface will be applied in warmer conditions next Spring, once completed the courts will offer a proper outdoor recreation surface and coloured lines for tennis, pickle ball, and basketball.

Ingleside Community Park Washroom - January 2017

With support through the Canada 150 Infrastructure Program, The Township of South Stormont is pleased to announced the completion of the construction project that provided much needed enhancements to the public washroom and storage facilities at the Ingleside Community Park.  This successful renovation is viewed as the cornerstone to future development opportunities for this park, it also provides an accessible facility that enhances recreational opportunities for both local residents and tourists.  The Township would like to recognize the contributions made by Open Plan Architects, Dale Coleman Construction, the Ingleside Community Park Committee, and the Government of Canada.
